All eyes on OpenID

I’m amazed by how suddenly OpenID has gotten people’s attention, after a long period of relative obscurity.

How much attention? Well, the openid-general mailing list archives have 77kB worth of (compressed) mail for December 2006 and 177kB worth for January 2007. So far.

If I had to guess where it stems from I’d say Simon Willison’s how to and screencast. Proponents of esoteric technology: take note, and take heart.
